Communology and Klausner announce Patent Licence Agreement on Visual Voicemail

To Include all European Mobile Operators and Unique User Activation Licensing Model

At the Mobile World Congress (14-17 February, Barcelona), mobile applications specialist Communology (Stand 2B68 in Hall 2) announced a new agreement with the US patent and technology company Klausner Technologies, Inc. The two companies have now extended their European Visual Voicemail (VVM) patent licensing arrangement from 2nd and 3rd tier mobile operators to all European mobile operators and have instituted a new license fee structure based on operator activated VVM users. Klausner Technologies holds the U.S., European and Asian patents for VVM – the new standard in voice mail – and has 33 current international VVM licensees. The popular VVM mobile application provides a graphic user interface to manage voicemails just as easily as SMS or emails. Communology is a leading VVM provider of mobile client software for a broad variety of platforms such as Android, Blackberry, Brew MP, Symbian and Qt, Windows Phone 7, Java ME, and others, as well as gateway and server infrastructure and professional services for technical implementation.

Communology joins Acision Innovation Network

Communology to develop client software for Acision’s enhanced mobile messaging solution

In advance of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Communology (Stand 2B68 in Hall 2) announced that the company has joined the Acision Innovation Network to develop a broad variety of device-specific software clients for Acision Message Plus. Acision Message Plus is an enhanced mobile messaging solution, providing subscribers with a feature-rich, personalised messaging experience with functionality such as copy, divert and auto-reply. It also provides a unified user interface for personalising multiple messaging channels (e.g. SMS, MMS and SIP). In addition to Acision Message Plus, both companies plan to extend their cooperation on further applications, including Visual Voicemail.

VZ-Nutzer können die kostenlose App ab sofort im Windows Marketplace herunterladen.  Entwickelt wurde die neue App von dem Software­unternehmen Communology, das auf mobile Applikationen spezialisiert ist.

Die neue mobile VZ-App für Windows Phone 7 bietet den Nutzern neben den wichtigsten Kernfunktionen spezielle Features für die mobile Nutzung. Dazu zählen unter anderem:

• Zentraler Homescreen mit Buschfunk (Statusmeldungen), „gruscheln“, Anzeige der Freunde mit ihren Profilen, letzte Besucher
• Komfortabler Zugang und einfache Navigation zu allen Detailseiten
• Anbindung der Handy-Kamera: Einfach Bilder aufnehmen und direkt in das eigene Album hochladen

Für uns war es eine spannende Aufgabe, für ein so erfolgreiches Netzwerk wie VZ eine Applikation auf einer ganz neuen mobilen Plattform für Windows Phone 7 Geräte zu entwickeln. Hier konnten wir erneut beweisen, dass Communology in der Lage ist, funktionsreiche und komfortable Apps für verschiedenste Geräte und Plattformen zu realisieren, so Thomas Kähler, CEO von Communology.

Communology unveils Voice to Text to further enhance Visual Voicemail

As a logical extension to the feature set of Visual Voicemail applications, Communology now offers Voice-to-Text (V2T) as part of the mobile client proposition. Voicemail audio files are not only downloaded to the mobile device to be listened and stored locally. In addition, the related text transcription is displayed in a joint user interface. Communology offers the integrated VVM/V2T client for Android and Symbian devices already today with more platforms to come. For the voicemail transcription, Communology is flexible to partner with leading solution providers following mobile operator’s request.
