Das Kölner Softwarehaus Communology hat für die Deutsche Telekom eine mobile Applikation (App) umgesetzt, die den beliebten Service MyCommunity der Telekom für Handys aus der Nokia S40-Serie und damit für Geräte aus dem unteren und mittleren Preissegment erschließt. Damit beweist Communology, dass anspruchsvolle Apps keineswegs nur mit Smartphones möglich sind. Mit der MyCommunity-App, die zunächst auf dem neuen Modell Nokia X2 installiert ist, können die Nutzer Familienmitglieder, Freunde und Bekannte über eine intuitiv bedienbare animierte Fotogalerie besonders schnell kontaktieren. Durch einfache Tastensteuerung öffnet sich ein Menü, das verschiedene Kommunikationskanäle (Anruf, SMS, MMS, soziale Netzwerke) anbietet. An der Unterstützung von Touchscreens wird bereits gearbeitet. Kontaktinformationen können direkt aus Outlook oder sozialen Netzwerken importiert werden. Und mit der Funktion Activity Log ermöglicht die App, alle Anruf- und Nachrichtenverläufe zu jedem Kontakt einzusehen anstatt sie mühsam in Listen zu suchen.
“Wir haben bei dem Projekt wirklich alles aus Java herausgekitzelt, was technisch überhaupt möglich ist. Uns hat die Herausforderung gereizt, eine wirklich smarte App auch für Handys der mittleren Preisklasse zu realisieren“, so Frank Bell, CTO von Communology.
at MWC, Communology shows its Mobile Test Edition (MTE) portfolio. MTE is a collection of test modules, certified by GSMNA and other organizations, for testing and assuring the quality of mobile phone software on Android, Symbian OS 9, Windows Mobile and Java ME. In addition, Communology will be presenting the new MIDP 3.0 upgrade for its Java ME MTE module at Mobile World.
Communology is also showing LiveMedia solutions for advanced mobile messaging and networking, as well as multimedia applications like TV/video and mobile marketing.
